Toyota Land Cruiser 2009
The Toyota Land Cruiser 2009 is a well-rounded off-road vehicle that is packed with features and takes on anything the road throws at it. It rides smooth and handles on-road with ease. The 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine makes plenty of power, but it needs to be revved up to get the most from it. The available electronic and driver-assistive technology keep the driver safe and comfortable.
Toyota is continuously improving the Land Cruiser to make it safer and more efficient.
The Toyota Land Cruiser 2009 comes standard with 4-wheel drive and is available with a rear- or 4-wheel-drive option. The 2.7-liter V-6 engine comes standard and is a 5-speed automatic with lockable transfer case. It is an incredibly powerful and smooth engine that will make towing a small trailer easy.
The engine is quiet and smooth and has plenty of power.
The 4-wheel drive transfer case allows a normal 4-wheel-drive mode or the lockable 4-wheel-drive mode that allows all four wheels to work together for 4WD operation. The "lockable" feature enables the driver to lock the transfer case to give better traction in high-speed straightaways, as when going through a set of gravel off-road puddles. The transfer case is also lockable in the 2WD mode. When locked, the transfer case will not engage the 4WD system until the clutch pedal is depressed.
If you are towing a large trailer behind the vehicle, you'll be glad that the transfer case is lockable.
Trailers that are 25 feet or longer can be pulled in the "lockable" mode. And if you need to pull a trailer shorter than 25 feet, you'll have to turn the transfer case off. This will enable the vehicle to go into 4WD and use the full torque output of the engine to help the vehicle break away from the trailer.
If you are towing a small trailer, turning the transfer case off will enable 4WD operation.
